2016 Exciting Travel Plans

As I mentioned in my last blog post, I’m currently saving for travelling (aka working my arse off and trying not to spend all of my money on books/clothes/makeup/music/food… I’m only partially failing!) and so I thought I’d upload a post sharing some of my travel plans (it’s not all completely booked/finalised just yet, but this is how I’m hoping it’ll go down 🛩)
MAY

  • Spend a week in rainy but beautiful Plymouth avec my father (I haven’t asked him if I can come yet, but I know he reads this blog so dad – this is me asking!)
  • Fly to Berlin and spend 5 days there, followed by 5 days in Copenhagen with one of my bestest friends Gabriela
  • Fly to Marseilles for my cousins wedding and spend a week in the beautiful and hopefully sunny region La Croix Valmer.

JUNE

  • Fly to Nepal to spend just under a month volunteering with CU Help, where I will hopefully be positioned volunteering in a local school whilst living with a host Nepalese family.

Original 3 questions:

  1. If you could meet anyone from throughout history, who and why? I would absolutely love to meet Martin Luther King or Marilyn Monroe, as to me both are hugely interesting characters. I would also love to meet J.K Rowling as the Harry Potter series basically shaped my childhood, or Walt Disney as he seemed like an incredibly down to earth person.
  2. What is your favourite book and why? This is an impossible question! I read too many books for this! I obviously loved the HP series, I loved The man who couldn’t stop, and I loved Rembrandt’s Daughter. But in reality there are so many books I love that this is a horrendous question for me haha!
  3. Who is your favourite fiction character from any medium and why? I have two very very different answers for this. 1. Sirius Black as he’s such a loyal friend that never ever gives in when he believes strongly about something. 2. the woman that Jacob Banks sings about in his song ‘something beautiful’ – the love he sings about is something I could only ever imagine in fairy tales.

Molly’s questions:

  1. What is your favourite blog post and why? In general my favourite posts to read are anything travel related; I know that’s very vague! I love travelling, and reading about other peoples adventures really excites me!
  2. What is your dream holiday destination right now? Right now would have to be Ecuador; to swing on the swing at the end of the world has been on my bucket list since I saw a picture of it roughly 5 years ago (and Ecuador is a bloody beautiful place anyway! There would be so much to see and explore ahh I want to go tomorrow!)
  3. If you could go and volunteer anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? Hands down without a doubt Borneo – Orang-utans are my all time favourite animals so to be able to volunteer with them would be amazing! That’s a dream, but not a reality right now. But hopefully next year, I’ll be in Sri Lanka volunteering with elephants (my second most favourite animal!) which I’m crazy excited for already!

I nominate:

Brainlaces

Everything you never need to know

Katy-Lou

Bibliomad

My Questions:

  1. Who is the most important person to you, and why?
  2. If you could give a lump some of money to any one charity, which would it be and why?
  3. If you could have any one job in the world, which would it be and why?

I really hope you guys enjoy answering my questions!

What I Got For My Birthday

This is my absolute favourite sort of post to read/youtube video to watch, so as I celebrated my 18th birthday on Sunday (16th August), I decided to share with you what I got for my 18th birthday!

(Side note – By writing this post I am in no ways ‘showing off’ I am merely sharing what I got for my birthday as I find it interesting to see whatever other people got, and thought this could also provide suggestions for friends/sisters/girlfriends etc.)

I wont include everything I got for my birthday, just what I think you’ll find interesting!

  • Canon 700D with 18-55mm lens (this was my main present and oh my gosh I am so so so happy that I got this! It means better blog photos and better pics for my scrapbook!)IMG_0032
  • Breville Blend Active (again I am soooo happy I got this! It’s basically a cheaper version of a nutribullet but seems to work just as well!)
  • Instax mini 8 (I got this from my best friends which was so nice and unexpected – I’d put this on my ‘to-buy’ list and told them about it and they got it for me which I was so happy about! I’ve already taken a number of pictures on it and I love it!)IMG_0069Jewellery collection
  • Jewellery (I got a selection of jewellery pieces including; a Thomas Sabo ‘E’ charm to go on my Swarovski charm bracelet, a mini loveheart locket, a gorgeous pearl and diamond ring, and a gold necklace which says ‘Eleanor’ in Arabic – this was a present to me from my uncle (whom was Egyptian) before he passed away, and my mum kept it to give to me as a special present on my 18th birthday)
  • Origins gift set (including a mini face wash, face mask, moisturiser and facial scrub – I’ve heard great reviews about all of these products so I’m so excited to try them out!)IMG_0057 IMG_0055
  • Lee Stafford argan oil for my hair (‘m trying to get a bit more life back into my hair!)
  • Black spotty makeup bag (one can never have enough makeup/wash bags. never.)IMG_0116
  • China teapot and cup (aka the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen found by my mum in our favourite Antiques shop)
  • L’occitaine gift set (I love anything L’occitaine so I’m very excited to start using this) IMG_0052
  • Travel essentials (including a travel journal which I’m so happy about, I can keep all of my notes in one place and when I return it’ll remind me of all my adventures! A luggage scale which is IMG_0060small and portable, as I don’t want to ever incur extra luggage charges, and a super power portable phone charger as when I’m travelling I’m unlikely to have constant electricity so I figured I could charge this bad boy up and it apparently provides around 3 full charges) IMG_0066 IMG_0062
  • Horse shaped door stop (I’ve been going on about how much I’ve been wanting one for ages and my mum bought me this lovely one! we’ve named him Dorian!)
  • Bottle of champagne (considering I can now legally drink!)IMG_0091

Hope you enjoyed the post! if you have a ‘what I got for my birthday’ post be sure to link it below so that I can check it out!
